SCORES FOR July 4 UP |
Not even famed Sharkz PR Man Baghdad Bob could paint a
rosey picture for Tell City or Durham this year
As usual, the Redondo Beach Sharkz
find themselves well in front of the pack out west.
Things are much tighter in the Eastern Division as six
teams are within seven games of first place. The
side story to all of this is the fuility of the Durham
Bulls and Tell City Titans. The two teams have
combined for just 18 wins so far and currently have a
combined fourteen game losing streak. It is possible
that the two clubs could bring back memories of 1997 when
both the Monarchs and Biermachers lost 110 games or more.

SHAWNEES
REPEAT |
Pittsburgh celebrates a Toilet Bowl Four Win
The Shawnees weren't as good as last year. After
all, they did lose one game in the regular season after a
perfect campaign in 2006. However, the result was
the same as Peyton Manning threw three TD passes for
Pittsburgh in a 37-13 win over Pinellas Park in Toilet
Bowl Four.

Clemens went the distance and Alex Rodriguez hit his third
homerun of the World Series as the Redondo Beach Sharkz
completed a four game sweep of the Lincoln Salt Dogs and a
perfect 8-0 post-season as the Sharkz claimed their
fifth-straight California League Championship with a 5-3
win over Lincoln. Congratulations to John Bischoff
for his fifth-straight league title...now please let
someon else win :).

2000 Flushes presents:
TOILET BOWL III
PITTSBURGH
SHAWNEES (16-0) VS. SOUTHERN
BANDITS (15-1)
Ashley
Lelie had a huge game with 135 yards receiving.
Pittsburgh ends perfect season, with resounding Toilet
Bowl III win.
Pasadena, CA - It took three years to
do, but a team built through the draft finally reached the
top and did so in resounding fashion on Sunday in Toilet
Bowl III. Drew Brees threw for 254 yards and two
scores as the Shawnees ended a perfect season with a huge
44-21 win as they became the third team to win the
California Football Association's Championship in the
league's three years. The Bandits actually led 7-3 at
the end of the first quarter, but the Shanwees scored
twenty-four second quarter points to enter halftime with a
27-14 lead. The key play of that second quarter
barrage was Terrance McGee's kick return following
Southern's scoring drive in the closing seconds of the half.
That drive cut Pittsburgh's lead to 20-14, but the all-pro
kick returner took the kick and went 91 yards to pay dirt to
give Pittsburgh momentum going into the half and they never
looked back from there.
Congratulations to Trey who reached a championship game
for the first time in either baseball or football. He
orchestrated numerous trades that made his team a true
monster this season. For Tom Bruszak, the championship
is his first in football and first in a Cal league since his
2000 Salt Dogs won it all in baseball.

FOUR-PEAT |
|
Roger Clemens celebrates yet another Redondo Beach
championship.
It wasn't easy, but the
Redondo Beach Sharkz have done something no other franchise
has done before, win four straight championships. It
was an epic game seven. A would-be pitching contest
between Randy Johnson and Jason Schmidt vanished in the
first inning, when the two teams had already combined for
seven runs after just six outs. The TNT Titans and
Sharkz battled back and forth all night long, combining for
thirty-three hits.
Tell City looked to have
gotten back in the game when Ben Broussard capped off a
four-run eighth inning with a bases clearing three-run
double to tie the game at ten. Redondo Beach went
quietly in the bottom of the inning and Tell City followed
in the top of the ninth. With the teams two outs away
from extra innings, Lance Berkman decided to play hero and
hit a series winning solo homer that gave the Sharkz their
four peat.
And so the 21'st season has
come to an end. Although it may be getting old,
congrats to JB on once again winning it all and doing
something never before seen. For those of you not in
the football league, I'll see you back in April for our
22'nd season.

CLAIM TOILET BOWL II WIN |

Brett Favre reacts after hooking up with Jerry Rice for the
first score of the game.
Pasadena, CA - For Mike Levine,
Saturday's win over the Pinellas Parks Patriots couldn't
have been sweeter. The long-time Cal Baseball League
owner claimed his first ever championship in either sport as
his New York Titans clobbered the Pinellas Parks Patriots,
30-7.

|
Redondo Beach celebrates their third straight title.
OCTOBER 19, 2004
- For the first time since the first three years of the
league's existence, the California League has seen a
three-peat. As has been the case this entire
post-season, the Redondo Beach starters struggled, only to be
bailed out by their incredible bullpen. Starter Barry
Zito allowed three runs on five hits, but the bullpen but up
goose eggs the rest of the way as the Sharkz beat Brooklyn 5-3
to take the 2004 California League World Series, four games to
two.
Congratulations,
again, to John Bischoff for winning the 2004 Championship.
Congrats also to Chris Reed, Dave Krieg and Jason Palmateer
for their post-season trips. As usual, this couldn't
have been done or been any fun, without all you, so I thank
you all. Well, season 20 (WOW) is in the books.
See you all in March for our 21'st season!!!!
